My academic engagement centers on the relationship between law, authoritarian governance, political repression, digital surveillance, social movements, and militant propaganda. I regularly present this research through conferences, workshops, invited lectures, and interdisciplinary scholarly forums.

Recent engagements include presentations at the University of Gothenburg’s conference on participation and local governance, the APSA Annual Meeting, the Arab Network for Political Science workshop at the American University in Cairo, and RightsCon. I have also delivered invited lectures at George Mason University, New York University, and George Washington University, addressing subjects such as algorithmic control, political change in the Middle East, and the evolution of Egypt’s legal system.

These engagements allow me to test developing arguments, exchange ideas across disciplines, and connect academic research with contemporary policy debates.
